Rhythm and groove come very naturally to the South Carolina drum prodigy Joshua Louis. His natural musical intuition surfaced at a very young age. Earlier than he can even recall, he would spend his young childhood beating on pots and pans just trying to get a feel for a real drum set. On more than one occasion, his mother had to buy new lampshades because Joshua had beat them to scraps, as though they were cymbals!
As Joshua grew, so did his love for drums and music. Joshua was bought up in a non-denominational church in Dillon/Florence South Carolina. It was there he got his first shot at playing drums...this time for real. As a child Joshua’s first inspiration was Chester Thompson who played for a variety of major artists. As Joshua gained wisdom and experience he soon became the main drummer at his church. Many opportunities would then follow. Joshua was soon playing with national recording artists such as Endure (nominated for five gospel Rhythm of Music Awards) and the group Genesis on their latest self-titled release. Joshua is currently endorsed by Soultone Cymbals.
