About

24 years old. Self-taught bassist, been playing for 9 years+. I've got 7 years of gigging experience, have done plenty of recording, and found "being signed" not to my liking.
After the whirlwind, toxic environments I've been in musically, I've decided to take charge of the directions I'm going in, and I've been experimenting with drums and keys, writing decidedly dark and minimal music. I'm seeking a primary creative partner to handle vocals and perhaps another instrument, in addition to members for a live band.
I can best be reached at lorazepamflu@ hotmail .com.

Influences

I play within the following genres, in no order: post-punk/gothic, surf-rock, hardcore punk (NOT emo), shoegaze, rockabilly, psychobilly, blues, and new-wave. I'm decidedly influenced by 80s alternative, psychedelia, and 50s pop, and 60s girl-groups.
As far as specific bands, my primary influences are: The Organ, The Cure, The Raveonettes, Morphine, Mazzy Star, Joy Division, The Smiths, Refused, and a plethora of more extreme noise bands of limited exposure.

Equipment List

Custom hybrid jazz bass/stingray. Behringer combo I've forgotten the info for. Microkorg and lots of old Casio keyboards and electric organs around the house I tinker with. Lots of pedals, but most of my sound comes from an EHX Metal Muff, and various delay and reverb units; I like for my lead lines to sound piercing and full.
