24 year old grad student who wants to find some other talented musicians to jam with and possibly develop a band for fun and local gigs.

I've been playing acoustic and electric guitar for about 13 years with the first 5 years being "professionally" lesson-taught. I mainly play electric only now, but will grab the acoustic every now and then for the fun of it. I've also been playing drums for 9 years.

I would be an excellent backup singer to anyone with a good voice. Can reproduce vocals to many popular rock groups out there (RHCP, Audioslave, etc). So far, I haven't found a song that I can't play on guitar as long as I'm given some time/music. Same goes for drums, I can pick songs up fast and can improvise well and nail it by about the 2nd or 3rd take.

Right now, nothing too serious, but local jams and gigs would be fun if possible. It takes time to put something good together so there's no rush. I've left behind 2 bands in the past due to moving from high school to U of MN-Twin Cities and then from U of MN Twin Cities to grad school here at U of Iowa.

Everyone I've met so far in this area asks why I'm not in a band...so here's my chance to try it again. Either way, I love playing music with others just bouncing off ideas, songs, and hopefully learning something in the process.
