I recently moved to DFW from California. My boyfriend's best friend approached me about a band after a karaoke night. I thought he was joking, then he texted me to say Travis was in for drums, and we just needed to find a bassist. I can't write to save my life, though Matt can write music pretty well, so we're currently shooting for a cover band to start, with options to dig into something more serious later. Matt's been playing guitar for most of his life, and I've been singing since I can remember. I did a five-year stint in a professional musical theater troupe, and he's played in garage bands before.

Influences

I was raised with a cousin ten years older than me, and she was a grunge head from the early 90s with a penchant for the Cranberries, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. Somewhere in the family vaults, there's a home video of me singing "Zombie" and rocking out with goth make-up that probably wasn't appropriate for a five-year-old. I like whatever sounds good; I don't really give a sh*t about genre. My voice suits blues-rock best, though my favorite thing to karaoke is "Welcome to the Jungle". Matt is a fabulous guitarist, strongly influenced by Zeppelin and all the classic greats. Travis prefers modern R&B and rap, but we won't hold that against him.

Me! My name is Kacie, though I'm toying with the idea of a stage persona. I'll be the lead vocalist and probably hold down the internet fort. I sing, and plan on learning the harmonica, and getting a tambourine. Y'know, the easy sh*t.

Matt is the guitarist, Travis is the drummer. More on them later.

EQUIPMENT

We each have our own equipment. We can share amps, I think, but past that, it's all byo. Rehearsals will likely wind up being in the spare bedroom of my apartment.
