About

Hey, I'm Kate! I'm only 17, but I'm serious about what I do. Music is my passion. I'm an aspiring music teacher, but I love writing and performing as well. I'd like to start some sort of music project with other people, either as a band or duo or something. Look at my influences to get an idea of what I'm into, and check out my audio files/videos to hear some of my music! I know I'm young but I am more than willing to work with people that are older. Again, I'm very serious about what I do.

My music career started with classical guitar in 5th grade, and in 9th grade I moved on to acoustic guitar and singing. I've been writing seriously since last year, and I also picked up the ukulele last year. I just got a banjo, so let's see where that takes me! :) I sing at the Westminster Choir College's Vocal Institute every summer and hope to go there for college. I sing soprano and have a very high voice. I do weird vowels and sounds in my videos/songs, but that's to make it more interesting and I like the style. I can sing straight tone, more verbrato-ish, or like I sang in those videos if you need me too!

I'm great with harmonies; writing and singing them.

Ideally I'd love an acoustic project, but an alternative project would be sick too. I'm aiming for something like Regina Spektor, Adele, or Ingrid Michaelson but I love all types of music.
