I am a 27 year old female singer. I trained privately in various genres for 8 years from the time I was ten until I was eighteen. I have a solid amount of performance experience from those years as well. When I reached the college phase of my life, I did not continue to seriously pursue a singing career, but instead focused on my academic studies, and then afterwards, finding a safe and stable career. I continued to sing informally and my husband helped me pick up playing the guitar (basically just well enough to accompany my singing). I quit smoking 6 months ago and have been singing more and more since that time and I am starting to get my voice back into shape. I have missed having singing as a central role in my life, so this is my attempt to start putting myself out there. I don’t know where I want it to take me at this point, so I’m just looking for something casual for now, but I am ready to find a more regular outlet for my musical yearnings. Feel free to take a listen to the voice samples under audio/video. They are very raw recordings (a cappella into my computer microphone), but it should give you an idea of what my voice sounds like. The first is "This Little Bird" off of Jewel's album Spirit, the second is Grace Potter and the Nocturnals' "Nothing But the Water (I)," and the third is "Woman in the Moon" as sung by Barbra Streisand.
