Once upon a time, not too long ago, there were places across the American South known as "honky tonks." These places were where people would gather from surrounding areas to drink beer, listen to good music, dance, and have an all 'round good time. The musicians that played in honky tonks were an age-old breed of storytellers and wordsmiths who learned their craft the hard way: by living and breathing the music and stories that they loved.
However, as the turn of a new millennium approached, the American honky tonks began to die out, replaced with thematic "country bars" and dance halls, and our beloved troubadours of the South became lost, finding only temporary homes at state and county fairs or in ice houses at best.
The K.C. Rogers Band is bringing back the age of American honky tonks by reviving the spirit of southern storytelling, southern hospitality, and good ol' southern hell-raising. Their shows bring back the days of old honky tonkin', with lively music, spirited audiences, and a celebration of making it through another week of blood and sweat.
Their mix of good old songs that everybody knows and loves (like "Good Hearted Woman", "Luckenbach, Texas", and "Louisiana Saturday Night") and originals like "Gonna Die Tryin'" weave a tapestry of southern pride and honest living in every performance.
