About

Manassas/Centreville
Drummer/Percussionist Needed for Original Roots Band
We are searching for the right drummer/percussionist to complete our band. We currently feature a guitarist/vocalist, lead guitarist, and bassist/harmony vocalist. We are focusing on continuing to write, rehearse and record original music. Our sound is a blend of acoustic and electric instruments with influences from blues, jazz, R&B, and rock. Our musical backgrounds vary from self taught-to a B.A. in classical guitar performance. We have all recorded and gigged to various extents with other bands in the past.
Our primary goal is to professionally record a full length CD this year. We will also concentrate on play live starting with 3-4 times a month locally, eventually some regional travel/gigs and festivals etc...
We have a dedicated rehearsal space in Manassas and 32 channel pro PA, rack system, floor monitors and even a set of shure drum mics. Our many Influences are to varied to list but our originals are similar in style to G Love, Sublime, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Donavon Frankenreiter, Percy Hill.
We are looking for someone who is skilled behind a drum kit and also with a smaller set up such as congas, djembe, cajun, or whatever. Vocal ability is also a plus
We seek someone who is able to practice regularly once a week (weeknight) from 7-10 p.m. (we generally rotate and all select the night-planning our schedule 6-8 weeks in advance.) We also practice occasionally on a Sat. once a month or so for 3-4 hours.
We enjoy serious musicians that also have a good sense of humor and motivated but easy going attitude. We all have full time jobs/careers and range in age from 26-34. We are seeking someone with a similar age/profile who is not looking to rely on the band for any significant income (unless things go really really well;). We are looking for the final member of our band not a drummer for hire. We run the band as a democracy so the opportunity exists to collaborate on everything including our sound, songwriting etc…
