Kerberos

ABOUT

Kerberos is from Cincinnati, OH and consists of Joey Jermer (Drummer) and brothers Eric Homeyer (vocalist/guitarist), and Keith Homeyer(bassist). Eric and Keith both studied music at the School for Creative and Performing arts in Cincinnati, and Joey is the founder and owner of Offensive Sound Studios, a recording studio based in Batavia, OH which boasts among other things 24 track simultaneous digital recording capability, and a full PA for live events.

They had played together intermittently since 2002 but were mostly in different bands. They came together in 2004 with the breakup of bands Blind Judgment (Joey)and Makeshyft (Eric and Keith). Basically each band split in half and traded members, which resulted in the emergence of two new bands, Beneath the Sky, and Kerberos.

Over the years writing and playing have progressed as the band explores new challenges and grows together and they continue to push the boundaries of ability and musical expression on their quest to bring the word Music back into the genre of Metal.

Influences

As far as bands, here is a short list of a few: Opeth, Mudvayne, At the Gates, Pantera, Chimaira, Divine Heresy, In Flames, Lamb of God, Machine Head, Sepultura, Slayer, etc.

Other influences include: The desire to hear the music that nobody else wrote yet, so we are doing it, the love of performance, and more specifically for our stylistic genre and lyrical content, the desire for a variety of the comlexities of experience to be translated into audible form, refined and reproduced in an original way.
