About

Recently my gigs have mainly been for world dance music and improv as director of music for Portland's Playback Theater improv acting group. Check out my 8 albums (though I play a much wider genre range that these) @ http://www.debone.com/kevinfhome.html and my partial bio's @ http://www.debone.com/bio.html. I tend to like new perspectives, new takes on traditional/established genres, new genres, etc. & extremes (high and low) of energy, emotion, complexity and exoticness in music. I've also learned to dance to a very wide range of musical genres and rhythms to help me perform the music better for dancing. (see the above URL for link to my article on learning complex rhythms).

NOTE: As of April 15, 2011, I am booked solid for next several months. In the future, as always, when I get a chance I expect I'll like checking out new possibilities.

Influences

Balkan, Turkish, Arabic, Hindustani, near eastern, Spanish, Flamenco, Latin American, classical (Baroque {esp. Vivaldi, some Bach} thru Romantic {some Paganini, Sarasate, Wieniawski, etc....check out my Strad to Strat albums via debone.com}, Bhangra, heavey guitar hero (Dregs/Morse, Eric Johnson, etc.), other world dance music including some Celtic & others, some pop/rock/dubstep/electronic.
