Kevin Bradley – “CHOP” to his fellow players, was born April 24th, 1959 in Washington, D.C. Kevin has been playing drums since the age of eight. His first influence was Clyde “Funky Drummer” Stubblefield (drummer for James Brown). However, after hearing Miles Davis with drummer Philly Joe Jones, Bradley’s attention was directed toward Jazz. Although he strives as a Jazz musician, Bradley isn't attached to any particular style. He has moved from one genre to another, constantly challenging himself, his fellow musicians, and the listening audience. He has studied with some of the finest drummers on the East Coast, such as Alan Dawson, Gary Chaffee and Kenwood Dennard. He started his professional career as a US Navy musician, touring the world and playing jazz. After the Navy he relocated to Tokyo, Japan from 1993 to 2000. While in Tokyo, Bradley worked as a freelance Drummer, activities included concerts, music festivals, jazz clubs, recording and broadcast work, special events, and teaching private students. He has toured and performed with a diverse group of jazz musicians, some names and some no-names, but always musicians with a true love for Jazz.
