ABOUT

Following the influence of his mother, Houston, Texas native Khalil, who gained the desire to sing at an early age, listened to all of the R&B greats: Donny Hathaway, Otis Redding, James Ingram, Gerald Levert and Jeffery Osborne; to name a few. Inspired, he began training with some of the best vocal teachers in the country to hone and develop his voice and style. With incredible range, a rich vocal tone and the ability to bring heart wrenching emotion to every melody he sings, Khalil has been compared to those R&B greats of the past and is looking to become the next great vocalist of the future.

If one were to mix the sexy vocal prowess of Teddy Pendergrass with the smooth sophistication of Brian McKnight, the creation would be Khalil. He is taking the uncut raw sound of old school and blending it with today’s R&B sounds. Khalil has impeccable songwriting skills and a velvet voice to accompany them, which has allowed him to be compared to some of the legendary voices in the world. Winning amateur night on the legendary show “Showtime at the Apollo”, and opening for the likes of Jessie Powell, Tony Terry, Heather Headly, LakeSide, Silk and The Legendary O'Jays, Khalil is definitely living up to those comparisons.

Khalil has been praised by many artists but when legends Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson heard his awesome voice they said he has a voice you could listen to all night and an incredible tone and unique style all his own that sounds great. Freddie Jackson told him to just keep singing and guarantees everyone would know who he was in no time. Khalil has a powerhouse voice that is to be reckoned with. He will be leaving his mark on the R&B world soon.
