Khaliyl Nubian (Vernon Brooks) has been playing both lead and rhythm guitars since Jr. High School and now has over 25 years of playing experience under his belt. He started playing drums in elementary school but soon switched to guitar being heavily influenced by his older brother Joshua.
Cutting his teeth gigging around the Washington, D.C. metro area, Khaliyl finally got a call to play lead guitar with an up and coming singing group in Brooklyn, New York known as "Passion".
While with "Passion" (82'-87'), Khaliyl played shows opening for Ramsey Lewis, Nancy Wilson and the late Phyliss Hyman.
Khaliyl is currently playing lead and rhythm guitars with "C. Barnes Project" as well as "Rise Band & Show".
I'm presently searching for an R&B vocalist to front a new project that I'm involved with in the DC Metro area.

Presently I'm looking for another guitarist/vocalist who along with myself on acoustic can hit the streets of DC soon with some of every kind of music to make some extra cash! Game? Hit me up!
