Madison based hardcore/experimental band The Killer Dolphin with Rabies is currently in search of a second guitarist.
We’re seeking out a guitarist that is creative, energetic, and enthusiastic about writing and performing music. The person we are searching for should be excited and dedicated to pushing themselves musically, and artistically.
We are an established band and we consider ourselves a “working band.” We are becoming increasingly known in Madison and throughout rest of the Midwest. We frequently play shows (about 3-6 a month ), and have ambitions to tour again.
Last year we self released our first full length album, ’Be Human’, and are 6 songs into writing our second release.
We do have quite a few shows coming up this summer, but there is no pressure to learn all of our material before then. We have worked as a 4 piece before, and have no problem giving a new member time to become comfortable before playing out.
Our influences are vast and it shows in our music. We are generally considered “hardcore” but we add elements of jazz, fusion, rock, and psychedelic music to our mix. Our influences are, but not limited to, such bands as Frank Zappa, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Mars Volta, Muse, and The Refused. We also play in standard E tuning.
We’re not looking for a lead or rhythm guitarist per se, but we need somebody that can move quickly on the fret board and do somewhat complex riffing. We consider ourselves laid back on a personal level, and collaborative on a musical level.
