This road tested sideman is stepping out front. He?s been schooled by acts like The Drifters, Coasters, Penguins, Olympics, Ink Spots, Big Jay McNeeley, The Fortunes, Ike Turner, R. B. Greaves, Etta James, Caesar and Cleo ((latter known as Sonny and Cher). ).
Energy and excitement are the conduit Johnny uses to capture his audience. Justin Hooks, entertainment critic for The Mississippi Sun Herald, having seen Johnny?s live performance writes ?It?s like coming home, but your home probably doesn?t feature the phenomenal rock styling of Johnny Fung. He had me tapping my feet more than I ever had at some arena rock concerts.? Ricky Flake, music critic for the Mississippi Sun Herald, in his review of Johnny?s first cd, tells his readers, ??solid collection of 10 blues based songs. Johnny?s guitar leads are clean and crisp, with historical antecedents readers with more blues knowledge can apply.?
Johnny Fung is a Grammy nominated international recording artist, who recently paired with Lady Patrice and together they front a new high energy party band taking the Mississippi Gulf Coast by storm , REWIND?!!
Considered by many to be a leading lady of soul music, Patrice Green, known as Lady Patrice, has fashioned an enviable career over the past 15+ years through a combination of class, grace and plain old great singing.
Lady Patrice made national history as the last person to perform in the New Orleans Superdome before the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. As the winner of the ?Saints Search for a Superstar Contest? , she was presented the opportunity to sing ?The Star Spangled Banner? before a televised New Orleans Saints-Baltimore Ravens pre-season game.
Patrice has appeared nationally as a guest singer on the Jenny Jones Show, Chicago, Il. performing a music tribute. She has performed in several Off Broadway shows staring as a leading lady of producer Greg Thompson?s ?Dixie Jubilee?, ?Big, Bad and Beautiful?, ?Christmas in Dixie?, and ?Santa Baby? all of which received rave reviews from music critics locally and abroad.
Lady Patrice has toured Europe and the United States performing for our troops and service members. She has released 3 cd?s entitled ?Affirmation?, ?Through the Storm?, and ?Songs of the Season?.
Before formally joining the band, Mark Hurst, also known as Question Mark, assisted with sound design, lighting, and equipment set up.
While attending The University of California, Mark conducted the University Pep Band while completing his degree in Theatre Arts. As he pursued his dual interests in theatre and music, Mark landed stage roles, managed sound effects, and performed in the pit orchestra.
Mark spent the next few years performing part time with various Folk, Funk, and R&B bands along the way from San Diego to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. After teaming up with Johnny and Lady Patrice, Johnny soon noticed Mark?s technical abilities were not his only talent and began to integrate his keyboard playing and back ground vocals into their routines.
After spending years behind the scenes in production, Mark is happy to be on stage once again.
