some of my lyrics.
I write lyrics and I sing. I've had immense positive feedback, so you can be confident when I say I can sing. My voice is really versatile. When I sing from the heart, it's amazing how many styles my voice can pull off. I prefer to write in a 70's rock style. I'm looking to develop a style with other musicians. I don't have any videos up yet of my songs, except for ONE music vlog I did on the stop at 3 am once when everyone was asleep. I can sing soft and sultry, and loud and high, I can go operatic, I can go screamo.. I'm not an "all about me" person. I'm not a control freak, at all. In fact, I strive to be the opposite. Things work better when you stop trying to control them, I believe.
My dream is to cover "Dream on".
Influences
I know, I don't really know what style I am yet. All i know, is the more I try to be something that already exists, the worst my writing becomes, so these are the bands that inspire me and help me sing MY art. not just what "The industry wants". bullsh*t. Imma be an artist :)
Otep, Rihanna, Goddess Gaia, African art songs, Flee the Seen, Babes in Toyland, Arch Enemy, Porcelain and the Tramps, The runaways, Metric, The Who, My Morning Jacket, Paramore, Flyleaf, Evanescence, Cream, Courtney Love, Epica, Aerosmith, Weezer, Bloodhound Gang, Black Sabbath, Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam, Sixx am, (nikki sixx), Motley crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Emilie Autumn, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Osbourne, The birthday massacre, Fiona apple, Radiohead, Nirvana...
Equipment List
Hardly anything, I'm planning on getting more once I get a band together. but here ..it's a pretty pathetic list so far.
condenser mike, chord to hook up to computer, audacity program for editing i don't really use much and it was free, an electric guitar (shitty but it works for writing ya know?) Good amp, bigger than the size of most start kit amps, don't remember name of it it's not with me while i'm filling this out, Recording King acoustic guitar, (capo, tuner, picks, duh) and a classical guitar i want to trade in for a bongo.
