Been playing guitar for 21 years, played drums for 10 years before that. I have a very strong sense of time, so I write a lot of odd metered riffs. Yes if you have done your math correctly I started playing drums at the age of 5.;)
I grew up in NY (moved to in FL for two years)and finally ended up in Belmont NC. Living so close to NYC gave me the opportunity to listen to, meet, and perform with all types of musicians.
Drawn to the darker things in life, my writing follows the same path. With me, music is a conversation, each player, within a band has his moment to "speak" in a song. No one gets drowned out, each able to "get their point across" just like a conversation. When it flows, it's undeniable. Although I am a theory major....rules are meant to be broken....I'd rather play with feel over theory anyday.
