Lights In Lost Skies began before they ever met. It began as the four men grew up in the small town of Blairstown, New Jersey with a deep passion for music and the idea that they could do anything they wanted with their lives; to escape the ritual of giving up your childhood dreams as we enter adulthood. This has been the foundation behind the band and is a primary focus in the lyrics and music. In its’ earliest days, Lights In Lost Skies grew out of the inspiring and levitating sounds of U2 and Coldplay. “There’s something about hearing a song that makes you feel like you’re floating off the ground ready to take over the world; and that’s something we feel has been missing in music as of late” says Kleindienst. And this is precisely the feeling you can expect to hear and feel while listening to a LILS song. After Ryan and brothers Quentin and Derek met while in high school, a close bond was formed through friendship and various musical endeavors although Ryan humorously admits, “Quentin made fun of me the first time we met, me being the shy kid at the lunch table…I didn’t expect to ever be good friends with him, nonetheless make a career path with him as part of a band.” The trio hit it off and soon came to life after winning the annual high school Talent Show with their, all joking aside, “Talent Show Song.” After several bass guitar players, the trio literally “stumbled” upon former member of local band Example, Brian McShane. “He was the glue that secured all the pieces together for us,” explained Derek. The four hit it off immediately and have since become inseparable, playing concerts consistently throughout the north east including a showcase show at The Bitter End, Blair Academy, Muhlenberg University, The Knitting Factory, Crash Mansion, The Stone Pony and an opening slot for Mae and Andrew WK at The Crocodile Rock. LILS then joined forces with producer and former member of Hidden In Plain View Rob Freeman (Hit the Lights, Cobra Starship). The move turned out to be one of the best choices the band ever made. The debut album Love Like Ghosts is the culmination of 18 months of hard work and now they are looking to release the album on a label and tour extensively for the next 2 years or so to promote Love Like Ghosts. With sights set high and failure not an option, the four dapper men are moving forward into this world they wish to create with their music, not necessarily knowing what it looks like quite yet, but with a vision of what it can and will be. “At the end of the day, it’s all for the fans and the feedback we get back…it’s a beautiful and indescribable feeling to express yourself through music and have it touch someone else as much as it touched you,” Quentin remarks with the grandest of ideas glistening in his eyes.

We are unfortunately in the process of changing our band name for the final time. The near future holds a new name, new album, new ideas, and a tour. Thank you.
