ABOUT

I'm a cajun bass player 50ish,looking to form a four-piece group, called "Guitar Vehicle" with twin leads similar to the Ventures in that they covered pop songs, and Vehicle for the songs, classic or not would have the melody perfect for the guitart. Think Chester and Lester, The Great Guitars, Love, Devotion, and Surrender? But with modern and original songs. You would be allowed input, providing the criteria of the song being a "Guitar Vehicle" It doesn't have to be a guitar instrumental, though being the vehicle it is, those song were already picked to be that by someone in the business. It would be a showcase for both guitarists (I play bass and also have a drum machine for starters)would have equal time playing leads and unrestricted solo time. Also, they would be the "stars" of the group, although I would be musical director, I take suggestions, I would only make announcements and the like (introductions of the players, twice, pizza numbers (gotcha). I have over three sets of songs that would be good for this type of band with new ones coming all the time. I predict every guitar player that doesn't have a gig that night will be in OUR audience (in my dreams)/

Willing to back up front person for the right price. Fast learner.

Influences

Django, Chet, Les Paul, Frank Zappa, Santana, McLaughlin Janis Joplin, Hendrix, Pete Townsend, Brian Setzer Big Band, Greatful Dead, Maynard Ferguson, Airto Moriera and Flora Purim, Miles, Bird, Coltrane, Stevie Ray, Stevie Wonder, Doors, Ozzy, T-Bone, BB, Albert King, local cajun musicians who were relatives. More, but there's no room ... but I hope you get the idea of the band. Guitar versions of classic and pop songs done in a way that pays tribute to those songs plus, hopefully adding more, at least it will expose great guitar music to more people.

EQUIPMENT

Late model Ibanez, Lincoln green, see-thru clear finish, p-type pu in neck position, f-type in bridge. 200 watt Fender bass amp with built-in equalizer and chorus, outboard flanger and compressor. Mike and mike stand.
Doctor's bag with extra patch cords, mike cords, repair items from my time as an electronic tech. Stool for my back, guitar style, high, with a back and foot rest. Mainly for my bad back and diabetes. I DO get up off of it often to start jumpin around the stage when I really get into it, though.
