Band to Join, Vocalist - Bass, Bass Guitar.

ABOUT

Got my first guitar at 10. Always played in my free time. Had a few informal bands in high school. Played at parties or school functions.

Just stumbled across a band when I met my now wife, in her cousins and friends, next thing I knew we were out gigging on a monthly basis. I assumed the lead guitar role after not too long. Little over two years later, most of these guys are content with our current level.. maybe covering expenses with gig money, just doing it for fun. Except the drummer and myself. I want to start a new project. He does too.

Unlike myself, Mike, the drummer has played in various bands since junior high. Really a very talented guy. Excited to get him playing more than once a week again.

We are looking for a bass player to form at least trio, start off doing Hendrix and John Mayer Trio covers and see what happens from there. Not really interested in another guitar, definitely open to keys. Maybe some Stevie Wonder or other funky stuff. Open to possibilities.

We can get together at Utopia Studios near 44 and Grand Ave where my band has a membership and play a little bit. See what happens. Hopefully hit it off and start gigging in a couple weeks.

Definitely have the time for anyone with guts enough to show up and play with us. As long as you can keep time and can pick up a chord progression on the fly.

Videos are from last summer. Have come a long way since then. No joke. Not even the same thing. Totally upgraded rig and 40 weeks of 20 hours with a guitar in my hand. Planning on adding one or two just from my den here within a couple days to be current.

Influences

John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix, Trey Anastasio, Jimmy Page. Have been pretty much obsessed with each one of those guys at a certain point in my life. Generally like stuff on the funkier side of things, Stevie Wonder, but never really explored too many artists.

EQUIPMENT

I don't have a ton of gear. Right now I use a 2003 Fender American Standard Strat, noiseless pups through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III and about 4-5 effects pedals on a given day, pretty persistently switching them in and out aside from my Boss compression and Fulltone OCD. Which stay on most of the time. Genuinely happy with my current tone with that set up, although my next big purchase might be a Twin Reverb.

Have access to a PA system with two pretty good sized speakers and a couple mic's. Should get us by to start out.
