ABOUT

I'm primarily an electric bassist, with upright/double bass experience, and worked professionally full and part time from 1972 to 1994. My experience includes playing clubs, bars, lounges, musical playhouse theatres, colleges, parties, square dance halls, and the "Holiday Inn" circuits. Genres included pop and top 40 (now known as "classic rock"), southern rock, country and lounge/easy listening. I brushed up on acoustic and rhythm guitar during my hiatus from active gigging, patterning a style after Neil Young, CSNY, Ian Anderson, etc. I've also delved into synthesized sounds, creating a hardware/midi/software setup of virtual and vintage synthesizers. As a keyboardist, I'm relatively new and untested, but know chording and inversions, simple melodic/rhythmic figures, and can program sounds and sequences.

I also enjoy SpaceMusic, New Age, jazz, progressive rock, metal, electronica and folk, and have experimented playing and recording in these genres.

I began actively gigging again a couple years ago. I've been involved in a couple cover bands and and have worked with a couple original music projects, playing venues as diverse as Johnny Brenda's and the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia to the House of Blues in Atlantic City. I'm currently playing upright bass and vocals with a three piece alt/folk playing occasional gigs. The photos are from rehearsals with one of the cover bands and gigs with one of the original music projects at Sherlock's in Smithville, NJ and Johnny Brenda's in Philadelphia, PA. The music clips are also from the same cover band and original music project.
