Had a successful metal band a few years back, as lead guitarist.
Now, I'm looking for a group where I can do vocals only. I'm coming with a deep death metal growl (i.e. Mortification circia 1991, Cannibal Corpse). I also do some hardcore vocals, and a bit of edgy singing, but that's not what I'm wanting to focus on.
I'm looking for a band with serious riffs, and serious blast beats. I love heavy breakdowns, and I can rock a crushing vocal, or shut up, as appropriate. I'm not into the dissonant technical stuff along the lines of Cephelic Carnage. I do like Mathcore (i.e. Extol - Undeceived), but technical dissonance riffs I just don't really feel them. Heavy, fast, good breakdowns. Pit-moving, head-banging grooves. That's what I'm looking for.
If your band is nearly complete but you still need to find like one member in addition to a vocalist, that's fine, but I'd prefer to plug right in with some serious metal heads that are only needing vox to finish the lineup. That would be the ideal situation, but ya can't always get the ideal.
Again I'm looking to do vocals only, despite that I do play other instruments well. Vocals is just what I'm feeling right now. I'd like to be able to leave the riffs and beats to the song writers in the band, and just hammer out the vox without having to do too much arranging myself. A collaborative writing environment is best of course when everyone has input, but in metal the riff drives the songwriting, as it should be.
You've probably gathered I want to do originals. I like a very carefully chosen cover now and then, but I'm all about writing new songs. If you are too, then holler at me.

Influences
Vocally, I'm most like early Mortification, Cannibal Corpse, Nile, or Necrophagist. I've got a little touch of hardcore going on, i.e. Biohazzard, Hatebreed.
I also strongly dig: Crowbar, Metallica (And justice and prior), Megadeth (Rust in peace and prior), Pantera, first two Lamb Of God albums, Believer (old school baby), Meshuggah, Hatebreed.
Newer stuff: With Blood Comes Cleansing, Winds Of Plague, Chimaira, The Agony Scene (first album), Sinai Beach.
I've got some other influences you might not expect, such as Dr. Dre, Jimi Hendrix, Clutch, CoC, Incubus, but we'll leave it here for now.
Understanding the following things is very important, and greatly influences my thoughts on any musical efforts:
