I'm looking for a 20 something talented bassist and a drummer (and possibly a second guitarist) to start a rock group from scratch. People that will give blood, sweat and tears. People that will play and contribute to song writing and arranging with their ears wide open - watching and listening to what all the other band members do, thinking about how they can contribute and help make each song great for the good of the band not just focusing on their own part. Chemistry is the key here.

I'm looking for confident musicians who don't care if their arms are falling off, who when they have nothing left somehow they squeeze out more. Real blue collar, hard working son-of-a-guns that give it all they've got every time and know (and love) how to get the job done with consistency. I need a great rhythm section, the rhythm section is the backbone of any great band. I want people who will show up every day and give it their best: everything they have, every single time no matter what.

I am 27 years old, live in Hollywood (Worcester MA born & raised), sing lead and play guitar plus a bunch of other instruments. My songwriting is mostly based in punk rock and rock 'n roll, so I'm mainly looking for musicians with a background in that area but I've also started to broaden my horizons and with this new band I want to shape something a little different. Something more upbeat, something that still kicks. I have an open mind towards music but please no metal. I played in a successful punk rock touring band that I made a living from for 8 years but I want to try something new. I have great connections to management, booking agents and record labels from my previous work but for right now I just want to concentrate on getting the perfect group together. Again, it's all about the chemistry. I hope to find the perfect fit of people to get a serious band off the ground. I'm a strong believer in team work and I love hearing other people's songs, the more input the merrier.

I know that some people reading posts on Craigslist often respond without reading too carefully what the requirements are when it actually doesn't fit their personality or experience. I'm asking for people to be true and honest about what they want and have confidence in who they really are. This is a true search for partners who care and will support our creation. I'm not interested in anyone looking for a job to fill time or because they have replied to 10,000 other posts and didn't get anywhere. Nor am I looking for someone who just wants to get drunk or stoned and get laid, I am not into any of that rock star crap. If that's your goal this is not the band for you. This is about music. If you're jaded, bitter & broken hearted about your previous band(s) please work that out in therapy before you think about bringing it into this band.

I hope this message resonates with someone and it sounds like exactly what you're looking for rather than it being someone who is just responding to every new post that they see. I am trying to be clear about my intentions and narrow things down by asking up front for what I want: down to earth musicians who have confidence without arrogance, experience and a strong work ethic.

If you know you're a good musician and you want to get down to some hard work please gimme a shout. I would love to hear about you and your goals. Also, if you have any questions about me please ask away. Let's rock!

-Marc
