So, here’s the thing. If you need a drummer, I’m your guy. I’ve played for longer than 50 years and can cover nearly every style out there, I can sightread like crazy and I’ve spent enough time in a recording studio to know how not to annoy the engineers. OK, so maybe Heavy Metal and Gansta’ Hip Hop aren’t really my thing, but you could probably work that out by yourself, couldn’t you? I suppose I could put up a resumé here, but really, is that what we need? I don’t think so. So, let’s avoid an embarrassing situation, and just say this: if you need a drummer, call. We’ll talk about when and what you need and go from there.

Yes, I own a tux (we all do, don’t we?); no I’m not in the Musician’s Union (but I’ll rejoin if there’s a compelling enough reason). Oh, and unless I know you really well, I usually won’t work free, “for the exposure”. People die of exposure…

I own three different drum sets and – with the smaller one – can fit in an area about as large as a phone booth. I have other kits perfect for big band and recording. But you don’t care about that as much as you’d like to know about The Important Stuff™: I’m experienced enough to play well for you and I’m reliable and show up on time. Book the gig, stop thinking about it.

Influences

I've played with lots of Big Names and many, many more who are just really good. I'm a serious bebop drummer, mostly influenced by guys like Max Roach. My big drum heroes are (duh) Buddy Rich, Steve Gadd and Peter Erskine.
