ABOUT

First, check out - .BLACK-TOM - to get an idea of what we do.

We are a "Blues/Rock" band and we specialize in powerful and intense music, with strong vocals, and a very original instrumental sound. This is NOT A COVER BAND. We do mix a few covers into our set lists, but our main focus is on original music. We have been together for about a year now, have played some shows with wonderful feedback and success, and we have even started recording our first studio album.

Long story short, we recently lost our drummer and our bassist due to some creative differences, and we are looking for a qualified replacement.

What we need from you:

1. Timing - Pretty self explanatory here. We need guys who can keep time, no matter what speed.

2. Tact - We are not a "speed/death/thrash-metal band". We want people who can play at slower speeds comfortably. There will be times when the drums should be subdued and soft, and other times when you will have a chance to pound away like a beast. And the bass will have lot's of room to breath, but we don't want to over complicate it. We want subtlety and class in our bass sound. We need people who understands the difference, and does not have to be told to "slow down" constantly.

3. Reliability - We practice weekly. Usually on Sundays but not always. We rotate from Manassas to Arlington, and we would be willing to practice at another location and rotate that into the mix as well if you have an option. At each practice, we discuss when and where the next practice will be, and we expect everyone to be there and if you are to be considered, you must be prepared to show up on time and ready to work.

4. No Dicks - Again, pretty self explanatory. Being in a band can be stressful at times, and there can be lots of frustrations that go along with it. We don't need a negative attitude making those situations worse. So if you're with us, that means you gotta be cool. :)

5. Can you sing - If so that's a plus. We would love to add some back-up vocals/harmony here and there. But it's not a requirement.

I only mention these bands to give a small idea of what we're into, but please keep in mind that we are not trying to sound like anyone else, we have a very original and unique sound that we would like to maintain.
