I moved to Lawrence from Vermont a few years ago after graduating college.

I started taking guitar lessons again a few months ago in order to hone my speed, general technique, knowledge of music theory, etc.

I am looking for a drummer, maybe another guitar player, a vocalist, and a bass player to start a bad-ass fucking metal band with death metal, grindcore, and heavy metal at the top of the list of influences.

Here are the qualities a person needs to possess in order to work well with me:
1. Substance-free or social drug and/or alcohol use
2. A great sense of humor
3. Dedicated
4. Financial responsibility and commitment
5. Road-worthy equipment (and I do mean "road-worthy" and not necessarily a rig that cost you $5,000+)
6. Ability to collaborate and work together
7. Communication skills
8. A shared, common vision as to where the band is going, what we are trying to do, etc
9. Ability to have fun
10. Organized
11. Intelligent

Next is a list of attributes I cannot work with:
1. Very heavy substance use and abuse
2. Abusive behavior (be it physical, mental, or emotional) towards friends and/or significant others
3. Inability to commit to things
4. Lying and/or generally suspicious behavior
5. Manipulation
6. Racism, sexism, and homophobia (we all like to joke around, but you know what I mean)

Seriously, I'm a fun guy. I just had to write the above lists due to all the crap I've had to deal with in the music scene :-)
