About
I started playing drums in fourth grade, switched to percussion and graduated with a BA in music at Naropa Institute (has since become accredited) in 1995 where I was introduced to traditional Marimba and Mbira music from Zimbabwe, as well as traditional Cuban, African and Hatian percussion, all of which I still play today.
I have studied with Rey Gonzalez from Matanzas, Cuba, as well as Chris Berry, Tute Chigomba, Cosmas Magaya, Musekiwa Chingodza, Forward Kwenda, Garikayi Tirikoti, and many other musicians from Zimbabwe.
I have studied music theory and music appreciation.
