ABOUT

In a word or two, my playing and style are OLD SCHOOL. Holding down the low end....to me, that's what bass playing is all about. My philosophy is that bass is a "supporting" cast member, and I'm absolutely cool with that. I'm not flashy; it's not my style. But you will know that I'm in the house, lol. Never have been much of a soloist; the GROOVE is my meat and potatoes. There isn't a better compliment for a bass player than when someone walks up to you after a gig and tells you that your playing was "solid." Played for 5 years with the New York based Cal Payne Project, a mixture of fusion, jazz, Latin, R&B and rock musical influences. Gigged at multiple venues in NYC, including a stint as the bassist for the Shark Bar House Band. I am drug, drama free, and a social drinker. I immediately walk out the door never to be seen again when any of the aforementioned are observed being abused. On occasion I'll have a shot or two of Jack Daniels AFTER the gig, lol. I love my 5 string, (my "bitch" according to an ex), and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of musical chemistry exists between us. If you're looking for a "pocket" player (which is an absolute lost art form), then I'm your man.
