Hanna Henry and John Tice met in the summer of 2007. Within a few months, they performed their first concert at the Feed America Music Foundation benefit in December of the same year. While there is no consistent formula to their songwriting, Hanna is responsible for nearly all lyrical content, and shares instrumental credit with John. Their very different songwriting styles contribute to the sound of MSM.
Hanna Henry (lead vocals/keyboard)
Hanna, 22, has been heavily involved in musical and theatrical performance since the age of 7. “Born to perform”, says guitarist John Tice, her classical training in piano and voice has led the way to songwriting. MSM is her first original music collaboration with another musician, and she’s proud to be a part of it. She has performed with Carly Simon, and recorded the theme song for a television pilot called Shadowboxes. Hanna plays a Yamaha YPG-625.
John Tice (lead guitar/vocals)
John began playing guitar at the age of 11, quickly taking after his father. A self-taught musician, he spent 5 years honing his stage presence as the lead guitarist for two separate alternative rock bands. Now 23, he is proud to call Hanna his songwriting partner. John’s primary guitars are a ’92 Gibson Les Paul Studio and a modified Taylor 110. He uses various pedal effects from several different names, a Line6 tube amp, and Cleartone strings.
