ABOUT

Guitarman for 12 years. I write my own songs, I'm always trying to perfect my craft, and I love playing. I'm looking to start or join a band. My style is more Metal/death metal/thrash metal, but I have influences all over and try to incorporate all of my musical tastes into what I do. I don't want to sound like anyone else or any specific genre, if my music does its purely accidental because i just write what i feel. A huge peeve of mine is when people try to emulate other bands or musicians. For me music is an expressive outlet so emulation is dishonest..unless you're trying to be a cover band which is understandable, but originals should be that...original.

CONTACT ME THROUGH jbasilm89 at (heres the tricky part because bandmix wont let me use actual email addresses because they want people to use them...) H...ot..Ma...i...l..dottt commm lol ok...?

Influences

So many influences, but I'll name a few. These bands I love because of their sound or mastering of their craft.

Darkest Hour- Thrashy, heavy, melodic, everything I love about metal. They've improved so much since sadist nation, not saying anything bad about that album whatsoever, but today they are all much better musicians, from the guitars to vocals, everything is better.

Sylosis-Josh Middleton is the quintessential metal guitarist of this generation in my opinion, he has the technical skills, and his songwriting is something he obviously takes pride in, I don't think this band just sh*ts out music in otherwords.

The Black Dahlia Murder- Another band that has pushed themselves to get better in every way over the years. I love the speed and darker melodies, it really creates a heavy, unique sound, which is why theyre where they are in their careers lol.

Trivium- I was strongly influenced by these guys back in the day. today I dont take much guitar playing from them, but as song writers they are also pushing themselves and I respect that.

Suicide Silence- deathcore done right lol everything anyone loves about the slamming breakdowns and raw vocals is why i do too basically.

Whitechapel- Pretty much deathcore with melody. Phil's vocals are one of a kind. Like a piece of silver in a shore of glass. So many metal vocalists sound alike for whatever reason, but his vocals are unique.

Other bands I really get into, recently Carach Angren, Lamb of God, Gojira, Meshuggah, As I Lay Dying, Slipknot, Amon Amarth, Korn, Allegaeon, Bring Me The Horizon..i could go on.
