ABOUT

I would like to get out and play with a R&B/Blues band, gospel group or ensemble a couple nights on the weekend. I am a Rhythm/Lead guitarist, background & lead vocalist in search of like minded individuals to see what we can do.
I toured full time with a band during the seventies opening for groups such as The Commodores, The OJays, The Temptations, Archie Bell & The Drells, The Ohio Players and Ramsey Lewis to name a few. You can find an old picture on FB called Bite, Chew & Spit. We played numerous clubs, recorded demos with the band. I recorded albums with regional gospel groups, hired as studio session musician for local groups in Charlotte, NC.
Afterwards I got a real 9-5. Being in the workforce was not bad, but I was not passionate about Information Technology as with music. I would love to get together and jam with other singers & musicians.

Influences

My early influences are guitarists George Benson, B.B King, Wes Montgomery, Johnny Guitar Watson, Ernie Isley, and Stanley Clarke. Some of the groups are Earth, Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, Chicago, The Commodores, The Ohio Players, Steve Winwood, and Graham Central Station.
Some of my influences today are Robin Thicke, Anthony Hamilton, Adele, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Judith Hill, and The Roots. I have heard some great new artists on The Voice, The Sing-Off & AGT. These new artists will most likely want musicians/singers when they record and tour! Ah ha!

I currently have a Washburn KC-V40 lead guitar, a custom guitar kit (Fender strat style) guitar, Boss ME70 effects, Martin CXE Acoustic /Electric guitar, Peavey Classic amp. I also built a Monarch acoustic & a Les Paul Jr. kit while attending Galloup School of Lutherie.
