Michael Sherman is an emerging jazz and R&B baritone saxophone player, composer, arranger, and singer. Michael grew up in Miami Beach, FL, where he attended New World School of the Arts. While there he was chosen to be part of the Grammy Jazz Ensemble. He went on to graduate from Manhattan School of Music. Most recently he has been nominated for a 2009 Latin Grammy on the album "Kenya Revisited live" with the MSM Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra. Accomplished in both Latin, Swing, and R&B, his newest project is putting together a Gerry Mulligan Tribute Quartet. Michael has shared the stage with Wycliffe Gordon, Terrence Blanchard, Wynton Marsalis, Irma Thomas, Jason Carter, Oscar Peterson, Hank Jones, Candido Camera, Duffy Jackson, John Fedchock, James Moody, John Faddis, Benny Golson, Terrel Stafford, Ted Nash, Bobby Sanabria Big Band, Allen Toussaint, Seneca Black, Ted Rosenthal, Barry Harris, and Coolio.
