Been playing guitar for around 15yrs. Started when I was 16. Quit when I was mid 20's to start a fam and do the 'get a haircut and a real job' thing. Now I'm 45 and have been back playing for the last 5 yrs. Tried to find serious musicians to form a gigging band, but they just want to drink beer and jam 3 bar blues for an entire Saturday afternoon. Sure, jammin is a blast and I have nothing against a good beer, but the reality is you have to be much more focused, determined, goal driven and self disciplined if you wish to be in a working gigging band. Hence the reason I'm on Bandmix.
I'll do my best to fill in the holes in my profile here...
While I am looking for bandmates to form a group, I'm certainly not opposed to joining an established band as long as the chemistry is there (see opening paragraph).
I play mostly by ear and believe I have a good ear for the music. I can read tab but only use it as a last resort.

Influences
O K. Where to begin....
SRV, EVH, Rhodes, Vai, Hendrix, Allmans, Clapton...the list is endless.
I'm a child of the 70's and 80's. I consider my roots in the 'classic rock/southern rock/blues' style of Skynard, Allmans, ZZ Top, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot. I really dig those sounds!
