About

My musical background includes a hitch in the US army as a drummer in the 72nd Army Band for 3 years, as well as in a Special Services touring band on both the American east and west coasts. During that time, I had the opportunity to play with highly-qualified musicians from all over the United States. Over the past 30 years, I have been playing the drums in pubs, recording studios, and live on stage with bands I put together or joined from Los Angeles, CA to Vancouver, BC, Canada and many points in between. I have an extensive repertoire covering ROCK, BLUES, R&B, and SOUTHERN ROCK. Originals are welcome.

Mike's Personal Statement:

My concept of music is straight-take. By that I mean, no over-dubbing, no click track, no electronic chorus on the vocals. A band must be able to repeat the music on stage with real instruments, vocals and harmonies, with only reverb and echo on the PA for effects. That’s when you feel the heartbeat in the music, the syncopation, what I call the human factor.

I have excellent drumming equipment, a one-ton cargo van, and the freedom to travel. I carry my own weight and keep my word. I'm in excellent health, have good stage presence, and an extensive repertoire. I'm ready to go anywhere anytime and can set up my drums and be ready for sound check in an hour.
