ABOUT

After a successful two and a half year run, we are now seeking a bassist and second guitarist. Vocal ability a must! Sick of playing the same old standard bar crap? We need to hear from you. We've been extremely fortunate to play material that isn't being beat to death in the clubs without alienating audiences. Our focus has always been to play songs that are instantly recognizable but not overplayed and that formula has not only made playing a joy for us, it's also proven to be a breath of fresh air for our audiences. We intend to keep doing that in 2018. The majority of 2018 has been booked at venues like Furniture Factory, Madison Station and Hard Dock, but we're taking the 1st quarter of the year to bring in fresh blood and hone our chops together as a band. If necessity is the mother of invention, then MonoStereo could be called her grandchild. That's because these musicians are bound together by a philosophy that enjoying live music should be an experience of discovery or in this case, rediscovery.

MonoStereo pay homage to classic artists in a way that feels different. Resolute in the belief that the key to entertaining an audience is to give them something they're not getting elsewhere, these five musicians are embracing bona fide classics that have been marginalized and overlooked on stages in the southeast for far too long. With this in mind, MonoStereo cover iconic multi-platinum artists spanning five decades from the 70's to contemporary rock.

The band's musical heritage is rich with experience. J Richter and Donnie Pylant are fresh from a successful twelve year run with Huntsville's retro kings Blackeyed Susan. Chris Robinson is a former member of Huntsville's fantastic power pop darlings, Dragmatic.

Individually, we all come from different musical backgrounds & cite different genres/eras. Collectively, we are a modern approach to a classic style. Anything from The Cars, Tom Petty, Honeymoon Suite and Billy Squier to Weezer, Fountains of Wayne and Neon Trees.
