Tickets are on sale now for “We’ve Got Christmas: The Second Annual Christmas Extravaganza” sponsored by Allegany College of Maryland’s Center for Continuing Education.

Four brothers of summer, two newlywed singers and a hula hooper, minus the pear tree.

“Last year’s holiday offering which featured Ricky Howsare was such a success and hit with our audiences that we decided to start a tradition and produce a big holiday show every year, each year featuring different local talent,” said Shane Riggs, the newly hired coordinator of community services for the college’s Center for Continuing Education and the show’s producer and director.
The program line-up includes six different acts in an old fashioned, family friendly holiday musical and variety show, according to Riggs.
‘There’s a lot of great music in this show,” he said. “There is something for everyone. From the traditional to popular music. From country to rock to Broadway, all centered on the most wonderful time of the year. And we also have some comedy and variety built into the show. Audience members are sure to have a good time and are guaranteed to leave filled with the Christmas spirit.”
The show—entitled “We’ve Got Christmas” is set for Friday, December 7 at 7 p.m. in the Robert S. Zimmer Theater at Allegany College of Maryland’s main Cumberland campus and features the talents of six of the most popular local acts of the last few years from Cumberland’s “We’ve Got Talent” summer talent show.

Scheduled to appear in the one night only performance are Michele Bailey, the Brothers of Summer, Echo Kessner and Taylor Comer, Jenna Matthews, Aaron Smith, and Rachel Spano.
With a blend of vocal styling that range from k.d. lang to Patsy Cline to Rosemary Clooney, Michele Bailey of Bedford, Pa. competed in the three last years of the “We’ve Got Talent” show, culminating with a top five nod in 2012.
The Brothers of Summer have also competed in the talent competition since its inception. The band of brothers – who get their name because their one and only sister is named Summer – finished in the top three in their last appearance.
Echo Kessner and Taylor Comer are a real life husband and wife duo who in their first year of performing together captured the top prize at We’ve Got Talent and became the winners of the 2012 contest. An homage to musical stylings of an era two generations before them, Comer plays guitar while Kessner sings.
Jenna Matthews won “We’ve Got Talent” in 2011. Her soulful vocal offerings are on par with singers like Adele, Christina Aguilera, and Carrie Underwood.
Aaron Smith of Finzel was the runner up in the 2012 contest. He will perform several unique hula hoop numbers, including one that will glow in the dark and another that involves audience participation.
Rachel Spano competed for the first time in We’ve Got Talent in 2012 and placed in the top five. As a new vocalist she has the stylings of a younger generation and is easily comparable to Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.

Tickets for “We’ve Got Talent: The Second Annual Christmas Extravaganza” are $15 in advance if purchased before 4 p.m. December 1 and $20 thereafter, at the door, or if tickets remain. Seats can be reserved now by calling 301-784-5069.

I will be performing starting at 2PM — 4PM at Mom and Pop's Grocery and Discount Store While Frosty visits the kids.
