I've been in a few bands. Nobody was really willing to commit, so I've been doing a lot of stuff on my own. I'm looking for a few people that would be willing to get together at least once a week.
Besides many well-known musicians, a few of my influences are more local. My number one influence is most definitely a bass teacher I no longer go to. We would be going over very simple things such as major scales, and he'd say "let me see your bass a minute" and play the most remarkable thing while teaching me. A few years later, he was teaching me more complicated things with chords and scales I can't pronounce and he say "let me see your bass a minute". I knew something great was about to happen.
Another local influence was my orchestra teacher from high school. I play the upright bass and our school only had a few players. When I was a senior, I was pretty much in charge of the section, and he confided in me to make sure we were all on track since it's hard enough to hear the basses let alone if they're making mistakes.
Though many basses have come and gone in my collection, I will always stick by my schector omen-4. I have a behringer bass amp and a behringer mixer with I have hooked up to my computer with Audacity.
