SEEKINGBand to Join, Fiddle, Harmonica, Background Singer, Other Percussion, Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Lead Guitar, Vocalist.
I'm primarily a solo musician who plays acoustic bluesy, funky, folky fun stuff. I'd like to gig more often and work with a band, too. I bring to the table a lot of gig experience, MANY original songs (300+), and a commitment to being entertaining. I'd entertain propositions to create a duo, trio or full band that is willing to learn new material, co-write, and be selective in the cover songs we perform. I'm not real big on performing old stuff that was worn out on the radio 30 years ago. More of a "B-side" guy. I don't want to play all blues, all folk, all rock or all anything. I'm not big on playing loud, obnoxious bars, either, but if our vibe is entertaining to such audiences, let's do it. If you can dig J.J Cale, The Lovin' Spoonful, Hank Williams, Amazing Rhythm Aces, Animals, Beatles, Muddy Waters - all in the same set - then contact me. This will be the 6th year for the SRSF. I'll be running sound and doing my set as the sound check. The festival is tight on the Shenandoah River, just outside of Luray, Va. Contact me if you're interested in going.
In Roanoke, Va, there's a fine place called Annie Moore's Irish Pub. We played there 4 times in 2009 and enjoyed it every time. They have award-winning food, a terrific bar with great bartenders and - WOODY! We'll play some new tunes and all the ones our audience won't let us leave until we play. If you're in the Roanoke area, we hope we get to see you there! Check their website at http://www.anniemooresirishpub.com/
The top 3 from each of the last 6 months (I won October '09) will vie for the prize. Mudpie is at 12 Frazier Ave in Chattanooga, has really good food and a friendly staff. Event starts at 8.
