My name is Chris and I’m 21, entering my senior year at Pitt, and I play bass. I also have an electric guitar and an RP-40 if someone needed it. My N. Oakland apartment is probably not a suitable practice space, and I should also mention that I don't have a car. What I need is two guitarists, at least one capable of playing lead, a drummer, a singer (it is OK and even preferable if the singer plays an instrument, especially guitar or keyboard/piano), and a drummer. Someone to play keys isn’t absolutely necessary, but would certainly be a welcome addition, especially if you can help write. I’d like this to be very melodic and hopefully have energy and a big sound, drawing on such metal, power metal, and progressive influences such as Iron Maiden, Dragonforce, Helloween, Rush, Angra, Black Sabbath, pre-Black Album Metallica, Dream Theater, Tierra Santa, Anthrax, Manowar, Suspyre, Blind Guardian, Rob Rock, and Stratovarius. If a little classic rock/hard rock creeps in like Wishbone Ash, The Allman Bros., Boston, Cream, Gov’t Mule, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin and UFO creep in, that’s cool. Classical influences would also be appreciated. Dual guitar harmonies rule. As far as songwriting goes, it would be best for everyone to be Christian so that we share some common ideological ground. Not everything needs to be praise, but there will be some of that, because I gotta testify about what God has done for me. I've written a couple songs, but I can't do all the writing myself; for the best, most original writing, I'll need some help from at least one other member. Are you interested in composing metal/power metal/progressive/hard rock? Iron sharpens iron. I figure we should be able to practice once a week. I don’t know why I didn’t try this earlier, but it’s not too late yet. If you’re looking to play, call (412) 607-8681 or email mutantman87@.
