Terrance Ramon Thornhill Orchestra Director
Born Terrance Ramon Thornhill, he is a man of many talents mastering in Music. Terrance currently serves as the Orchestra Director. He is very active in the music ministry, and he oversees about 14 active members. He is currently employed at Tri-Valley Academy of Arts and Academics as a Support Staff person for the music department.
Mr. Thornhill was raised in the City of Detroit, Michigan. He was educated in several Detroit schools. His musical education stems from 3 years at Detroit Council of the Performing Arts (DCA), also 2 years at Detroit Music Festival of Performing Arts. His musical expertise includes Trumpet, Drums, Trombone, Baritone, Auxiliary Percussion and Orchestra Percussion. He has experience in several performance bands such as:
• Port City Concert Band (2 years)
• Greenbrook Jazz Band (10 years)
• Project Groove
• Horns of Fire (Horn Section for Hire)
• Have traveled the width & breath of the country with N.W. Wells ensemble
He has also played for several play productions, such as "The Wiz"; "Leader of the Pack", and "Ain't Misbehavin".
Terrance's instructional experience is as follows:
• Assistant Band Director for Muskegon Heights High School and Middle School (5 years)
• Assistant Band Director for Tri-Valley (4 years )
• Director of The Holy Trinity Sanctuary Orchestra (1996 – current)
• Beginning Band and General Music Assistant for Muskegon Heights Elementary Schools (2 years)
• Founder and Director of Renaissance Show band of Western Michigan established 2/2000
• Private lesson instructor since 1995
• Composing and Arranging music since 1990
