About

I am looking for some people to jam with and possibly to try a career in music. I have a BS in computer science and a minor in music. I took private drum lessons for 10 years with a professional drummer who moved to the Reno/Tahoe area. Really great teacher and was able to help me develop into a better musician. Played in school bands mostly due to the fact that I could not find other musicians to play music with. I can play just about all styles of music. I don't like Rap/Hip-Hop and country. All other genres I do enjoy extensively. I am a serious musician and want to try and make a career out of it. I currently practice once a moth at Guitar Center Studios in Emeryville due to busy work schedule. I am free lancing work though so schedule is somewhat flexible. If you want to jam, let me know.

Influences

My top 3 influences are Pink Floyd, they influenced me to learn the drums. Led Zeppelin, Bonham just knows how to groove and they are classic. Genesis, one of my all time favorite bands. Love them from the very early years with Pete through the later years with Phil. Great band and really enjoy their evolution as a group. Some other influences are Casiopea, The Square, Rush, Lynrd Skynrd, Tool, System of a Down, James Taylor, Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and many others.

Equipment List

I have a 5 piece custom drum set. By custom I mean I redid all of the hardware and repainted the drums myself and replaced the drum heads. I have a crash cymbal, hi-hat, ride, and china along with a cowbell. I haven't had money to put into the kit recently and I was playing the kit regularly and my cymbals are broken unfortunately. The good news is they still sound good! So don't let appearances fool you. Once I get some cash flow, I will replace the broken cymbals. I also have an original Yamaha DTXpress electronic drum set. Oldy but a goody. First drum set and still sounds great. I have a Peavey 4 string bass, an electric guitar, acoustic/electric with broken pickup (so acoustic guitar), Yamaha Electronic Keyboard (it's my moms but I can borrow it) and a Peavey 40 watt guitar amp.
