For me, this is all about creative outlet. I'm interested in creating, playing, and recording uncategorizable melding of jazz-rock, jazz, funk, alternative/modern rock, African, Latin, and blues with like-minded musicians. Mainly driven by desire to collaborate, learn from each other, share influences, and have fun composing/playing/improvising music together, but would also enjoy playing occasional gigs. Most of my experience, which has come in waves, is in the realm of playing by ear and improv, some originals, some covers (mostly rock, jazz, blues, funk, and jazz-rock) on guitar, some traditional (west-African and Latin percussion), and have recently picked up the bass guitar (funk, jazz-rock) and a bit more theory. Rhythm is very high on my list of what makes music interesting. I have some past experience with recording (analog and digital; studio and home) and synthesizers (really ancient moog and electrocomp analog gear) and would like to do more recording of original music, possibly including some electronic music elements.
