I'm looking to put together a metal band that pulls from various sub-genres such as NWOBHM to thrash to black to doom to death, etc. NO NU-METAL please. I'd like to be melodic yet heavy. Some fast parts, some slow parts, some clean parts etc. I am also into some other music as well, which you will notice under my influences list. I play mainly rhythm but am not opposed to playing some leads. I just need another guitarist who is more capable of it. I also need a drummer and bassist. Vocal duties will be held by any four of us who can handle whatever parts. I used to sing for a few months, but haven't in a while. I have rehearsal space. I am into a lot of the more "obscure" bands and am looking for people into the same. I've jammed with people into more mainstream bands, and it always ends up being that we don't have enough in common. Nor am I looking for people who think that they are being "versatile" because they not only listen to black metal, but death metal as well (LOL!). I would describe what I want to do sort of in between the Euro-Metal (typically 70's to early 80's metal: melodic, bluesy, classy, and aggressive: most notably Michael Schenker and Brian Tatler) and some of the older Gothenburg stuff (extreme metal with a heavy Maiden/Fate influence).

Influences:

Diamond Head, Dissection, Mercyful Fate, Hypocrisy, U.F.O., Iron Maiden, Demoniac, Blue Oyster Cult, Kreator, The Doors, Vulcano, Bathory, Candlemass, Atheist, Onslaught, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Carcass, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Exciter, Holocaust, Raven, Blitzkrieg, At The Gates, Deceased, Celtic Frost, Pink Floyd, Voivod, D.R.I., Cathedral, Possessed, Suicidal Tendencies, Sarcofago, Dio, Blessed Death, Bloodstorm, Saxon, Suicidal Winds, Death, U.K., Alice Cooper, the Eagles, Chris Poland, Hallow's Eve, old Megadeth, old Metallica, old Slayer, old Anthrax, old Sepultura, Deep Purple, Budgie, Hellhammer, old C.O.C., Sodom, Nasty Savage, Destruction, The Great Kat, Angel Witch, Necrophobic, Witchfinder General, Exodus, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Death Angel, Black Sabbath, In Flames (nothing newer than 'Clayman'), Venom, Jimi Hendrix, Morbid Angel, Testament, Overkill, old Def Leppard (before they went pop), Samson, Usurper, Trouble, Michael Schenker, John Williams, Joe Satriani, Led Zeppelin, Hobb's Angel Of Death, Edge Of Sanity, Ozzy, very little Glam/Hair Metal like Crue, Skids, & GNR, etc.
