I am 25 years old and in-between bands. I love music and believe that God called me to use it as a tool. I am looking to find people with a heart and passion for music similar to mine. I want to bring something fresh. The band I picture would have songs that range from musically complex, down to simple catchy hooks depending on what the song calls for. Musicians need to be fluent in the ability to create as they go, but also learn the parts the songs require in the way they need to be played. I don’t want to be involved in a band that uses drugs, gets drunk, promotes explicit lyrics, and is not willing to be professional. (show up on time, practice regularly, play shows and travel when needed, common sense things)
I am influenced by the art of music and not as much the genre. I want to have a sound that people will know it’s your band playing within the first few seconds of the song, but open to grow and experiment with genres.
Sounds I like range from in no particular order:
Muse, Linkin Park, Mute math, coheed and cambria, u2, cold play, NIN, DC Talk( yeah, I’m a Jesus freak), Jars of clay, Foo Fighters, Wyclef, radio head, red hot chili peppers, incubus, red, 30 seconds to mars, Nickel Creek, primus, Victor Wooten, Flaming Lips, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Weezer, tool, Kirk Franklin.
The equipment I play with is as follows:
Ampeg 8x10 speaker cab, Eden time traveler head, 2 custom built basses, Ephiphone Gothic sg, Martin acoustic, bundy alto sax, Korg d3200 recorder, 2 shure mics, Digitech vx400 vocal pedal, boss metal zone distortion pedal, Digitech loop station, Alesis Trigger I/O with a roland spd-s sampler, alesis qs7 keyboard, and a big pa with 2 monitors, 2 house speakers, crown power amp, behringer board, and rack mount eq.
