ABOUT

I organize a monthly jazz jam session at the First United Methodist Church, located on Sonoma Boulevard at Virginia St. in Vallejo, CA.. I am always seeking jammers who want to play music with an emphasis on collaborating vs competing. Currently I am especially interested hearing from drummers to enhance our rhythm section.

This is all about jazz. . ...and you. . ..and a supportive environment where you can jam and grow as a musician. Sound interesting? Read on. . .

The Vallejo Jazz Jam invites jazz musicians of all persuasions (voice, piano, drums, bass, harmonica. . .you get the idea) to jam together at the historic First United Methodist Church located in downtown Vallejo.

The First United Methodist Church (FUMC) hosts a jam session on Saturday, once a month. The session lasts for about two hours. Musicians of all levels are welcome.

Here's what you can expect at each session:
-- Easy charts for following along
-- The thrill of practicing your own compositions in a group setting
-- A supportive, non-judgmental environment
-- The opportunity to participate or just listen-in
-- Session fee is $5 and supports FUMC's broad array of community services.

If you are interested in joining these sessions, reply to this posting and put in the subject line: "Yes, count me in for The Vallejo Jazz Jam sessions!"

Come and support your jazz community. We'll raise the roof and warm the walls with some great jazz music! We look forward to hearing from you. . ..
