Musical drummer and percussionist looking to meet other musicians for exploration and extrapolation. I prefer originals, but also enjoy the serendipitous cover.
I've been a band the last 5 years and it looks like we're fizzling out. No matter what becomes of this, I'm still looking for new personalities to see if alchemy is possible.
I don't really want to make my fortune in this, and am not eager to tour the Midwest in a van. Occasional gigs are fun, especially if it's in a non-smoking venue.
I've got a pretty good voice and mostly sing backup. I can usually find a harmony line to join in when it's needed. I have some trouble singing leads as the drumming suffers then. Anything can be worked out with lots of practice.
I have written a few songs, but this is not my strength. More of a lyricist than a melodyist.
Also, if an existing band wants some percussion and another voice, that would be really cool.

Influences
I listen to several types of music and would love to play many. I would prefer to avoid Metal, Punk, and Country, but am open to dabbling in those genres if it's not the major part of the group.
My favourite types of music are Prog (guilty pleasure), Jazz, Jam, Funk, Blues (a little goes a long way), World, Space, and maybe even some type of music that is yet to be invented.
EQUIPMENT
I've got an old Ludwig kit with some nice cymbals. Also lots of hand drums including good congas, dumbek, boudran, tar, talking drum, log drum. A wide assortment of shakers and even a couple of Korean Buddhist bells and a gong.
