I have been playing Drums for about 20 years now, and I am still looking for the "Perfect" Band for me. I have been trying for years to play the intricate music that I want to play, but inevitably it seems that not everyone involved is really into it. The Band just sort of fizzles out. I think I just about had the best situation I could hope for a few years ago, but it turns out I was just surrounded by talented musicians who didn't realize how blessed they were. One of the saddest wastes of raw talent I have ever known.
Anyways, I have played in several different Bands over the years, from real "Working Bands" that were always gigging and makin' some money, to the just party Bands that get a block-party jumping for fun with your friends! I have managed to at least take something positive from every experience I have had from every Band to learn from. Kinda like Reincarnation I guess (if you believe in that sorta thing ;) If you keep coming back, sooner or later you're gonna get it right. Well I think I've started over enough damn times!
I want a Band that we all share equally in the love for the music we play, as well as the responsibilities of keeping our love out there for others. Simple, right? WRONG!! Oh well, I'll get it right sooner or later. I will definitely keep trying, because playing Drums and sharing my Flavor is all I want to do! I'm looking for some cats who want to play some Intricate Hard Progressive-Rock like RUSH. I also really love PRIMUS, FAITH NO MORE, THE POLICE, SOUND GARDEN, MR. BUNGLE, TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, and about 1,000,000 others too numerous to mention! I have a car, so I can commute (Not Too Far +/- 30 miles) and can afford an equal share of rent for a studio, provided it's not some outlandish amount! I have extensive experience in recording situations, as well as gigging and making money that way. I'm tired of being told that I'm too busy in my Drumming. Time to find some folks like me, who dig a style of music that will continue to entertain the audience, while still challenging us as Musicians. I don't really care about being a rich "Rock Star". Just make enough money to be comfortable and keep playin' Drums. That's my idea of Heaven on Earth!
