Background: Started playing in 3rd grade. 1st gig at 13 YO, weekly lessons for 15+ years, Associate in Music, attended North Texas State for performance, studied Indian Classical music in NYC. Played 6 nights a week for years then quit. Drums were stored for 20+ years. In the fall of 2013, I set them up and started to get my hands and reading eyes re-wired to my brain.
Focus: I want to find musicians to play mostly jazz, built around piano-bass-drums with another player or two, but I'd be very happy playing latin, R&B, rock, funk and more as lesser ingredients in the mix. I wouldn't mind backing a jazz vocalist with a light mix of these other idioms. My primary musical mission is to have FUN and for me, improvisation is a big part of that. I'm not ruling out wedding bands, dance bands, top 40, radio rock, etc. but they are low on my list - been there done that. Touring or playing every night are non-starters, but a little practice and the occasional gig on the weekends would be nice!
I have not done any studio recording, but would feel completely comfortable and capable in performing like this.

8 pc DW Collector's kit (22bd, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 14sd, 10sd), tons of cymbals, 5 pc Gretsch bop kit (18bd,14,12,10 toms,14sd). I do not have cases for the DW kit - yet. I have mics and stands, software, mixer so as to record some demo tracks or more. Stay tuned soon...............
