I am trying to start a really solid band. I want to have at least two singers so we can do some good harmonies, a drummer who plays right in the pocket and can stay there all night long, a bassist who does the same, and people who will listen to each other and be able to put the song before themselves. Others' suggestions and collaborations are fine and welcomed, but there is definitely an ultimate vision for the band being this sort of bluesy-rock with really solid deep lyrics and a great dancing/toe-tapping beat, and if the songs don't seem to fall in line with that probably won't be considered, no hard feelings.

I have a real boogie-woogie sorta style when I'm on my own. In a rock band I tend to do a lot of rhythmic playing on piano and organ. Rarely do I use synths.

My singing is bluesy and soulful- I get really deep into the lyrics and delivery- I really like Lou Reed and Bob Dylan, and though you don't have to like them to be in the band- I'd like members to understand that I'm trying to paint a picture with my vocals- not just provide nice ear-candy. Know what I mean? Lol

I'm a pianist- and a singer/songwriter. I'd like to additionally have a

1)rhythm guitarist (sometimes electric, sometimes acoustic),

2)lead guitarist (tasteful fills-you don't have to be Stevie Ray Vaughan to be in the band and we'd prefer not- an individualistic style and effective delivery are far better than any skills at mimicry),

3)solid drummer (someone like Maureen Tucker of the Velvet Underground, or Ringo/Charlie Watts would be preferred.)

4)and solid bassist (one who'll work well with the drummer to keep that groove nice and slick).
