About

I enjoy experiencing every type of music possible. In so doing I've played everything from rock, jazz, funk soul, R&B, world and tribal to zydeco music. As a groove style player I can jump into most any style. I play congas, bongos, djembe, doumbek, timbales, talking drum, Roland pads and a score of percussion toys to fit just about any type of music. I can alter my set-up to be as small as bongo's and percussive toys to full on percussion including a gong. I've worked professionally from coast to coast with several engagements abroad, namely New Zealand, Japan, Central American, England and Italy. I sing in a mid tenor range and have done leads, second leads, harmony and backup. I am driven and very passionate about what I do. I love performing. Aside from conventional music I also enjoy and partake in drum circles with fellow professionals. It is a rich exchange of drumming techniques and rhythms that creates a Mantra-like pulse, a perfect bed for many types of music. In addition I bring the creative possibilities of photography, videography and editing to the band. Let's talk. john
